I am originally from Budapest, Hungary, born in 1954 and currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am a silversmith by profession at our family business, Biro and Sons, Inc. in San Francisco. I have painted throughout my life. I studied Economics and Art at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA. Nature and landscapes have always intrigued me, the primitive aspects of color, light and movement in particular.
I presently work with oil paints on canvas, applied with palette knives. I have a growing interest in abstract expressionism which I feel gives me greater freedom to explore.
I am the Art Education Director for the East Bay Artist Guild (EBAG). My work has been shown in exhibits at the California State Fair, Diablo Valley College, the Lindsay Dirkx Brown Art Gallery and the Art Cottage, among others. My awards include an Award of Excellence from the California State Fair and an award from the San Leandro Art Association.
